    Get PDF
Business organizations in multiple sexual orientation of the subject is no longer a reason for exclusion, for which different instrument are designed to promote inclusion and therefore its visibility. This paper aims to examine the consequences of the visibility of homosexuality in an organization that promotes inclusion, through the case of Raul. These consequences suggest a space for intervention action in an entity as LG Electronics Mexico. We have chosen to write about personal experience Raul as well as being gay, was an activist for the rights and viewing homosexuality. Raul currently holds a management position at LG Electronics, México, a company that has policies against discrimination based on sexual orientation

Deim-based pgd for multi-parametric nonlinear model reduction

A new technique for efficiently solving parametric nonlinear reduced order models in the Proper Generalized Decomposition (PGD) framework is presented here. This technique is based on the Discrete Empirical Interpolation Method (DEIM)[1], and thus the nonlinear term is interpolated using the reduced basis instead of being fully evaluated. The DEIM has already been demonstrated to provide satisfactory results in terms of computational complexity decrease when combined with the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD). However, in the POD case the reduced basis is a posteriori known as it comes from several pre-computed snapshots. On the contrary, the PGD is an a priori model reduction method. This makes the DEIM-PGD coupling rather delicate, because different choices are possible as it is analyzed in this work

On projection methods for functional time series forecasting

Two nonparametric methods are presented for forecasting functional time series (FTS). The FTS we observe is a curve at a discrete-time point. We address both one-step-ahead forecasting and dynamic updating. Dynamic updating is a forward prediction of the unobserved segment of the most recent curve. Among the two proposed methods, the first one is a straightforward adaptation to FTS of the k-nearest neighbors' methods for univariate time series forecasting. The second one is based on a selection of curves, termed the curve envelope, that aims to be representative in shape and magnitude of the most recent functional observation, either a whole curve or the observed part of a partially observed curve. In a similar fashion to k-nearest neighbors and other projection methods successfully used for time series forecasting, we ‘‘project’’ the nearest neighbors and the curves in the envelope for forecasting. In doing so, we keep track of the next period evolution of the curves. The methods are applied to simulated data, daily electricity demand, and NOx emissions and provide competitive results with and often superior to several benchmark predictions. The approach offers a model-free alternative to statistical methods based on FTS modeling to study the cyclic or seasonal behavior of many FTS

A high dimensional functional time series approach to evolution outlier detection for grouped smart meters

Smart metering infrastructures collect data almost continuously in the form of fine-grained long time series. These massive data series often have common daily patterns that are repeated between similar days or seasons and shared among grouped meters. Within this context, we propose an unsupervised method to highlight individuals with abnormal daily dependency patterns, which we term evolution outliers. To this end, we approach the problem from the standpoint of High Dimensional Functional Time Series and we use the concept of functional depth to exploit the dynamic group structure and isolate individual meters with a different evolution. The performance of the proposal is first evaluated empirically through a simulation exercise under different evolution scenarios. Subsequently, the importance and need for an evolution outlier detection method are shown by using actual smart-metering data corresponding to photo-voltaic energy generation and circuit voltage records. Here, our proposal detects outliers that might go unnoticed by other approaches of the literature that have demonstrated to be effective capturing magnitude and shape abnormalities. This work was supported in part by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation through project PID2020-115460GB-I00, and in part by the Andalusian Regional Government through project P20-00153, and in part by the Research Program for Young Talented Reseachers of the University of Málaga under Project B1-2020-15.
